At
the February 19, 2008 Durham District School Board Meeting, questions were raised
seeking clarification regarding the reported purchase of land by the Durham District
School Board in the Village of Brooklin. To clarify, Superintendent of Education/Facilities
Services, David Visser, stated that the Durham District School Board has an option
agreement for the secondary school site in the Village of Brooklin and the Durham
District School Board has not exercised the right to purchase this property.
The Durham District School Board currently holds approximately 20 options to purchase land in various locations throughout the Region to accommodate for possible future developments.
